Dog training problems are so commonplace, because many of us attempt to train our dogs without the benefit of a good training program. Almost everyone makes the same common mistakes when trying to obedience train their dogs. These mistakes end up leaving us with half trained dogs who still have behavior problems and who don’t always listen to our commands.

Often these mistakes occur because we don’t know the right way to communicate with our dogs. One mistake repeated over and over is trying to communicate with the dog as if you were talking to a human instead of a dog. Many people really spoil their dogs. After you have learned how to be the alpha dog, you will see your dog eager to pay attention and follow your lead.  You do not need to be harsh or negative to become the alpha dog. Actually, becoming the Alpha leader is mostly about projecting the right attitude to your dog.  It is your dog’s nature to want to please its alpha leader. If you can establish yourself as the alpha dog, you will be on your way to solving your dog training problems.

Training problems  resulting from incorrect techniques or neglected training are easily noticeable. These are the problems we often see such as aggressive dogs, dogs that aren’t properly potty trained, dogs that bark continuously, or dogs that won’t come when they are called. These problems and many other common dog misbehaviors can be corrected with consistent effort and the right methods. Several short training lessons every day are needed to get good results with the obedience training. This is especially true when trying to correct dog behavior problems that have existed for some time. Because these problems took time to occur, it will also take a period of time to correct the problems.

The good news is you can resolve pre-existing dog training problems, once you have a good book or video program to learn the correct techniques from. On the other hand, if you are training a new puppy, you have the opportunity to avoid any dog training problems in the first place. It doesn’t matter if you are training a puppy or an adult dog, always use the knowledge provided by a good dog obedience training system if you want to get good results and avoid behavior problems.
